Inside, connect the cable to the solar controller or your own compatible power bank.
Internal solar controller
Connected directly to the fixed 13W solar panel, the internal controller manages the panel’s USB output. It includes one USB-A port and one USB-C port, each rated at 5V/2A with a maximum output of 10W. Connect a compatible phone or your own power bank directly to either port.
For the 13W model, one connected device at a time is recommended for steadier charging.Flexible power connection
The cable for the external junction box is stored inside the backpack beside the solar controller. Its USB-A and USB-C connection options let you connect the external ports either to the internal solar controller or to your own compatible power bank.
Solar controller connected: use available solar power. Power bank connected: use the power bank as the source.External USB access
The external junction box gives you convenient access to USB-A and USB-C without opening the backpack. Its available output depends on the connected power source, cable, charging protocol and device.
When connected to a compatible fast-charging power bank, the external ports can pass through its supported fast-charging output. No power is generated or stored by the external junction box. It provides convenient external access to the power source selected inside the backpack. Power bank and charging cables are not included.

Solar backpack FAQ
Answers before you head outside.
Does this solar backpack have a battery?
No. It generates electricity in sunlight but does not store it. A power bank is not included. You can connect your own compatible power bank to collect energy for later use.
Can I charge my phone directly from the backpack?
Yes, with a compatible phone and strong, steady sunlight. For better results, stop and place the backpack so the panel faces the sun. When walking, output changes as the panel angle and light change, so using your own power bank is recommended.
How do I get the best charging performance from the solar backpack?
Find clear sunlight, stop and place the backpack steadily, then face the fixed 13W solar panel toward the sun before connecting a compatible phone. While moving, use your own compatible power bank to collect available solar energy as light and panel angle change.
How much power will the 13W panel actually produce?
13W is the panel's rated maximum, not a guaranteed constant output. Real output depends on direct sunlight, panel angle, clouds, shade, temperature and the connected device. A reference test on November 4, 2025 in Dongguan, China measured about 1,000mAh in one hour under very good direct sun. Your result will vary.
Does this solar backpack work on cloudy days?
It depends. The 13W solar backpack can generate some power when useful sunlight reaches the panel, but clouds reduce and fluctuate the available output. For more predictable charging, wait for clearer sun or connect your own compatible power bank.
How long does solar backpack charging take?
There is no single guaranteed charging time. It depends on sunlight strength, panel angle, shade, temperature, the connected cable and how much power the phone or power bank accepts. Place the backpack steadily with the panel facing clear sun for the best available output.
Can I use USB-A and USB-C at the same time?
Both ports can output, but for the 13W model we recommend using one port at a time for a steadier charging experience. Each port supports up to 5V/2A (10W).
What kind of power bank works with it?
Most standard power banks that accept 5V USB input should work. Check your power bank's input specification before connecting it.
Is the whole backpack waterproof?
The solar-panel surface is waterproof, while the backpack exterior is water-repellent rather than designed for immersion. The external USB port has a protective rubber cover; close it fully when the port is not in use to help protect the area from splashes. Do not expose an open port to water or connect wet electronics. We do not claim an IP rating for the complete backpack.
Can it charge a laptop?
No. The padded compartment can carry a laptop up to 15.6 inches, but the solar USB output is not designed to charge a laptop.
What is covered by the warranty?
The planned U.S. coverage is a one-year limited warranty for confirmed product or manufacturing defects. LINKSOLAR covers standard transport for an approved product defect; customer-caused damage is not covered. Final contact and return instructions will appear before sales open.
