About LINKSOLAR

Our Technology

BC solar cells, flexible encapsulation, in-house electronics and testing.

You are reading Our Technology

Solar technology designed around the product.

Shenzhen Lianyang New Energy Technology Co., Ltd develops LINKSOLAR products as connected systems in which the solar cells, encapsulation, electronics and structure are matched to the way the product will look, move and work.

The complete system comes first

A high-efficiency cell alone does not determine how a finished product will perform. Available surface area, cell layout, interconnection, encapsulation, controller design, temperature, structure and real-world sunlight all influence the result.

Our approach is to consider those factors together. The right technical choice for a backpack may not be the right one for a hat, tent or house-number light.

Why we often select back-contact solar cells

For many LINKSOLAR backpacks, audio hats, fan hats and solar power products, we typically select back-contact, or BC, solar cells.

In a back-contact architecture, the electrical contacts are moved to the rear of the cell. This gives the light-facing surface a cleaner appearance without the prominent front metal grid found on many conventional cells, while reducing front-side shading.

Both factors matter in a product that people wear or carry: the solar surface is visible, and the area available for generation is limited. For many current consumer-product designs, Shenzhen Lianyang selects BC cells with a rated cell conversion efficiency above 24%.

The cell rating is measured under stated test conditions. It is not the same as finished-module efficiency or the live output of a complete product. Cell cutting, connections, encapsulation, temperature and sunlight conditions all affect the final result.

BC and PERC serve different design priorities

Conventional PERC cells can be suitable for many solar applications. In compact consumer products, however, their visible front grid and the need to make effective use of a small surface can make BC cells a better fit.

We do not describe one cell architecture as universally best. The selection depends on the product’s electrical requirements, available area, appearance, structure, target cost and intended use.

Flexible modules for products that move

Backpacks and hats do not behave like rigid rooftop panels. Their solar surfaces may follow a curve and experience movement during normal use.

For these applications, the Shenzhen Lianyang team uses an integrated flexible lamination approach. The cell layout, interconnection and encapsulation are developed as a flexible module instead of treating the panel as a rigid component attached at the end.

The construction is intended to manage stress during permitted bending and reduce the risk of hidden cell cracks that can lower electrical performance. It does not make the module unbreakable; bend limits, handling requirements and structural protection remain specific to each product.

Electronics developed in-house

Shenzhen Lianyang maintains an independent electronics laboratory and electronics engineering team for LINKSOLAR product development.

The team develops product electronics including solar controllers, maximum power point tracking (MPPT) solutions, solar junction boxes and related PCBA circuit designs. In-house development allows the circuit to be matched to the chosen cells, product voltage, available power, charging behavior and intended device.

The electronics are developed alongside the solar module and structure so that the full energy path—from incoming sunlight to usable electrical output—can be evaluated as one system.

Laboratory and validation capabilities

Shenzhen Lianyang’s electronics and environmental laboratory capabilities support engineering development and design validation. Available equipment and in-house testing include:

  • High- and low-temperature testing
  • Salt-spray testing
  • Accelerated-aging testing
  • Drop and vibration testing
  • Temperature-related electrical and functional testing
  • Water-ingress and water-resistance testing
  • In-house RoHS 1.0 and RoHS 2.0 substance-testing capability

The applicable test plan depends on the product, its specification and intended environment. An in-house test supports engineering and quality decisions; it should not be read as a third-party certificate or as evidence that every LINKSOLAR product has passed every test in this list.

Technology must become useful

Our goal is not to collect technical terms. It is to turn solar and electronics into products that are appropriate for the people and environments they are designed to serve.

That means balancing output with size and weight, appearance with protection, flexibility with durability and rated performance with the conditions customers will actually encounter.
